I was born and raised in Richmond, VA and fell in love with broadcasting and media at a very young age.
Everyday, I would watch the Today Show, and I thought to myself, “I want to be just like Katie Couric when I grow up.” So when I got to college, I took reporting classes, broadcast writing, and Electronic News Gathering, in which the class put together a weekly news / sports show called “Virginia Tech News.” I originally planned to start out as a reporter, but after taking Electronic News Gathering, I realized I want to start out as a producer to learn more about the business.
I graduated in May 2010 from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Electronic and Print Journalism. I interned at WDBJ and WSLS. While at Virginia Tech, I was the photo editor for The Bugle (the Virginia Tech yearbook). During August 2010 to May 2011, I participated in the Disney College Program in Orlando, FL.
Since the college program, I volunteered at several places, while trying to get my foot into the media industry. In March 2012, I started working at WTVR CBS 6 as a production/web assistant. After all the hard work, I finally found my way back into the media industry.
During my free time, I like to blog about current events, read, travel, edit graphics, take pictures, and hang out with friends and family.
